The Waldorf Rainbow is one of the most sought toys lately but… Why?

This rainbow is one of the most complete toys because of its sensory and game options.

On the one hand, it is made of wood and we can find it in different shades of color: natural wood, bright colors, pastel colors…. In this way we offer the children different tactile and visual sensations.

On the other hand, it offers multiple game alternatives which allow children to develop their cognitive and motor skills as well as their creativity and imagination. With the rainbow, children can make different types of constructions, throw them away and build them again, assemble circuits or tunnels and play with balls, cars, dolls, etc.

The color, shape, balance and symmetry are also worked and, depending on the evolutionary stage in which the child is, stimulates symbolic game. In short, it is an ideal toy for free play.

At what age can I offer the rainbow to my son or daughter?

Another question you may have is the age at which the kids can start using the rainbow.

Well, given their multiple game alternatives, children can use it since they are able to take with their hands an arch of the rainbow. Each child himself will adapt the type of game he plays with the rainbow to his evolutionary stage and his needs. So they will begin to explore and experiment with their pieces from babies and change the type of game as they grow.

We can choose among different sizes

If this brief explanation has already convinced you to buy it for your daugther or soon, or give it to someone close to you, you may now have another question: What size do I choose?

  • Giant rainbow: it measures 96 x 55 cm and has 5 pieces.
  • Large rainbow: it measures 38 x 18 cm and is made up of 12 pieces.
  • Medium rainbow: it measures 19 x 9 cm and has 6 pieces.
  • Small rainbow: it measures 9 x 6 cm and it is also 6 pieces.
  • Double rainbow: it measures 23 x 27 cm and contains a total of 12 pieces, 2 of each size, which are fitted in an axis.

In short, when choosing the right rainbow you have take into account the place you have available (when playing takes up significantly more space than when it is set) and which is the color that most attracts the child.

If you already know what you want… you only need to see your kid enjoy! And, as long as the kid do not play, the rainbow can be a nice decorative element in the room.
