We all are different.

Each individual has characteristics that differentiate him from the others. Each student that we have in our classroom will have specific physical characteristics, will come with a different cultural and intellectual baggage, each one will learn in a unique way; and we will have to know the peculiarities of all of them to adapt our teaching way to their needs and give them the best possible education. And the richness of diversity is that we all are different, and we all have some capacity.

As teachers we have an important task, and that is to work with our kids to achieve the full inclusion of all students.

Working and assessing individual differences from early years education will help us achieve the inclusion of all students in school and, later, in society.

Then, I recommend some stories that can help you work diversity in your classroom or at home.

Four little corners

In the world of the circles there is a square that gets along very well with the circles, but when they want to go to play in the circle’s house… The square can not go in. Don’t you guess how they solve it?

Lorenzo saucepan

Lorenzo has something different, he always carries a saucepan with him, wherever he goes, he goes with his saucepan, but that saucepan does not prevent him from doing anything at all.

Giraffes can’t dance

Chufa is a somewhat clumsy Giraffe, and everyone tells him that he can not dance. But the problem seems to be another, and that is that he had not yet found his style.

Elmer

Elmer is a colored elephant, he is not gray like everyone else, he stands out wherever he goes.

Butterfly ears

Mara is a girl with characteristics that call the attention to other children; and with the help of his mother, all the negative comments they make about her, become positive. Mara has characteristics that others lack.
